A central theme at the Festival of Retail Ideas in Melbourne (Feb 28 – March 2) is ‘innovation’.
Few industries rely more on the ability to innovate than the retail sector, as economic conditions, the competitive landscape and customer expectations are rapidly changing.
Intelligent technology – reduce theft, increase profits
RFID access control technology is now available for security conscious retailers, allowing retailers to monitor display cases for time and duration of opening.
This new technology provides the store manager with full access control over all locked security cabinets. Store staff are provided with individual remotely programmable key fobs which can provide access to all or specific cabinets.
The centralised nature of the SIDAC RFID access control system means that key fobs can be remotely programmed, for example lost or stolen fobs can be disabled remotely in a matter of seconds. All access is logged centrally and a report produces valuable statistics that can be crosschecked with sales and customer behaviour.
SIDAC display cabinets are stand alone units that can be seamlessly incorporated into the standard Sidac shop shelving system. No matter where the SIDAC display cabinets are installed; on a gondola, wall or table module, these units are designed to be adapted to any SIDAC structure.
Existing cabinets can easily be relocated if needed. The cabinets can be fitted with a variety of accessories, including glass shelves, back lit flat and inclined steps made from both steel or translucent plastic material, as well as side LED illumination.
