Brief

Geelong Football Club needed new furniture to fit out their new Charles Brownlow Stand as part of the expansion of their home ground at Kardinia Park – GMHBA Stadium.
GFC appointed Kane Constructions to build their new Charles Brownlow Stand, and as such the FFE package formed part of the builder’s package.
Kane Construction wanted a single source of supply for all the furniture on site, to reduce the quantity of subcontractors they would have to engage
The furniture needed to be of a high level of quality and also design, as it would be subject to some fairly rugged use on game days
The design intent needed to be adhered to, as the architect (Populous) was insistent on the quality of the overall design of the project.

Bowen Interiors worked initially with Kane Constructions, and subsequently with both Geelong Football Club and Populous to come up with a full furniture package that all parties were happy with. We provided samples and shop drawings to ensure that the client was happy with was being proposed and that it would fit in with the design intent of the building.

Our ability to provide a full furniture package meant that Kane Constructions was able to reduce the number of subcontractors on site, thereby reducing the amount of management and paperwork they would have had to do. Our unique sourcing ability meant we could source from anywhere in the world to get the right products for Geelong Football Club, at a budget that Kane Constructions was happy with.

Key features in the furniture package included:

Corporate box furniture in the upper levels
Fitout of media rooms, overlooking the grounds
Administration areas on Ground Floor, for Geelong Football Club staff
Breakout furniture to the Social Club, for premium GFC members

Results

The end result was a cost effective and efficient stadium Fitout, with a high level of design incorporated into the furniture supplied.

We achieved the key milestone dates of being ready for their key home games, where GFC opened up their new stadium to the football world.

This expanded Charles Brownlow stand has enabled GFC to provide an even more premium level of football membership, for which they currently have a waiting list for.
